— I’m Your Man German: (Ich bin dein Mensch) is a 2021 German science fiction romance film …. selected as the German entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.
“There’s unexpected depth to this smart, Berlin-set relationship comedy. Unlike the similarly themed AI/human romance, Spike Jonze’s Her, I’m Your Man opts for an unshowy, real-world aesthetic and a less cynical outlook. But it asks pertinent questions about loneliness and a world in which algorithms can know us better than our human partners ever will.” – The Guardian

Benediction is a 2021 biographical romantic drama film written and directed by Terence Davies. It stars Jack Lowden and Peter Capaldi as the war poet Siegfried Sassoon.
… “Benediction” is an expansive movie of loss, isolation, and horror; it’s an energizing and inspiring movie about the vanity of existence itself. … The film brings the past to life with a vividness and an immediacy that seem wrenched from Davies’s very soul. — The New Yorker
“Benediction,”… is a movie of acute sadness and intense pleasure. The pleasure and the sadness are inextricable, which seems fitting, given how closely aesthetic bliss and moral despair were entwined in Sassoon’s own art. — LA Times

“Brooks’ chronological and cross-disciplinary leaps are thrilling . . . [Horse] is really a book about the power and pain of words . . . Lexington is ennobled by art and science, and roars back from obscurity to achieve the high status of metaphor.”
—The New York Times Book Review
“A testament to the intelligence and humanity of animals, a stinging rebuke of racist and abusive humans, and a study of how the past gets recorded, remembered, and remade . . . anyone who ever grew up loving horses, anyone who dearly loves an animal, will find a cornucopia of riches in this novel.”
— Boston Globe
“A confident novel of racing and race . . . with tender precision, Horse shows us history in flux . . . the book returns the Australian-American novelist to the terrain that won her a Pulitzer Prize with March, her 2005 tale of the war-absent father from Little Women. She brings the same archival confidence and sensory flair to the antebellum racetrack.”
